The MD-02 is a well-equipped MiniDisc^® deck combining proven MD technology and easy operation in one compact rack-mountable unit. It features four recording/playback modes including LP2 (double recording time) and LP4 (four times recording time), and offers editing functions to divide, combine, move and erase tracks on the disc. The unit also offers input monitoring without a disc inserted and a sample rate converter to record from 32-kHz and 48-kHz digital sources. An auto-recording function starts and stops recording automatically depending on the input level. While recording, track numbers can be set manually or automatically by time or level and tracks can be faded in and out.

Unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs as well as digital coaxial and optical inputs and outputs with digital level control are provided as standard. For any contractor and high-level consumer application, the MD-02B offers additional balanced XLR terminals. Both units are further equipped with headphones output with level control and a computer keyboard connector for easy titling and control. And a wireless remote control is also included.

As the only newly manufactured professional MiniDisc deck on the market, the MD-02/MD-02B is a perfect replacement for older units making it possible to use this versatile recording media for many more years.
